Golden Wheat 22k And Akoya Pearl Earrings

For centuries pure gold was worn by Pharaohs, Emperors and Kings. The use of gold in jewelry began in antiquity. Because it doesn't corrode, it was equated by the ancients with power and immortality. Nothing compares with its richness and incomparable color. You only have to hold it in your hand to feel its magic.

Because it is so soft, pure gold (24k) is rarely used in jewelry. Gold is measured in parts; pure gold is 24 parts, 22 is 22 parts gold, 2 parts alloy (usually gold and silver), 18k is 18 parts out of 24 parts gold and 6 parts are alloy; 14k means that 10 parts are alloy and only 14 parts are gold. That's why 22k has such a rich, yellow color, making the other alloys pale in comparison. It is also a dream for a goldsmith to work with.

These beautiful 22k gold triangles have been imprinted with a subtle wheat pattern and embellished with 3 small white Akoya pearls. Total gold weight is 3 grams. The earrings hang on handmade 18k french ear wires. The triangles are 15 x 16 mm, the pearls are 3 mm and they hang about 1 inch (25.4mm) from the ear lobe. Each earring is signed by the artist and stamped with a 22k gold mark.
