Ancient Kauri Bx-18

This box is made from wood that was buried in bogs in New Zealand for 30,000-50,000 years. The wood is perfectly preserved, not petrified nor fossilized. It is incredible to think that when this tree was standing, humans were living in caves and there were wooly mammoths walking around! Like all of my boxes, this one is made entirely of wood. It features exposed-dowel joinery, wooden hinges, and dovetail drawer slides. It has two drawers and two lift-out trays. Designed as a jewelry box, it can also be fitted with trays and compartments to hold watches, pens, pocket knives or whatever you need. The price is $825.

Dimensions: 15"W x 9"D x 4.25"H
