The mesquite doors are about 100 years old and were supplied by the client. They came from Mexico and were in service until recently. The client requested that the doors be cleaned up and refinished, but all the weathering & distress left in tact. The legs and frame were milled from fire salvaged black mesquite, and distressed to match the weathering of the doors. The new mesquite was free of cracks and knots, the cracks and knots seen in the frame and legs were hand carved and colored to stay in keeping with the doors. As per the clients request, the legs & frame were assembled using mechanical knockdown hardware for ease of relocation.
