Apple Wood Stitched Vase
This unique vase was made from apple wood salvaged from an apple orchard. Most of the wood was very cracked, so I added two ebony "stitches". The "stitches" were made from the keys salvaged from an 19th century church organ. The vase has several cracks and worm holes. The stitches and the defects all give the vase a very unique character.
The vase is approximately 4" in diameter and 6.5" high. It was coated with 6 coats of wipe-on polyurethane and then buffed to a gloss finish.
