The window trim for our cabin's small studio building has relief images. There are four glyphs on the window and door frames. Some are abstractions. Others are literal, representing clouds and a bear. Their material purpose is to bring a sculptural level of fine detail to the building, revealed by the casting of shadows over the course of the day. Their expressive purpose is to bring an element of the spirit to the fabric of the building.
