A client of mine brought a picture of an antique from a magazine and said, "Can you make this armoire but combine it with an entertainment center so I can put my TV and video equipment inside?" I developed concept drawings based on the magazine clipping, reviewed concept sketches were reviewed, and produced shop drawings.
This unit is constructed of paint-grade materials, primarily solid poplar and birch plywood. The uniquely shaped doors have glass that was salvaged from an early 1700's farmhouse in Lexington, MA in order to give the piece a vintage/antique feel. Hidden inside this unit are raceways for entertainment equipment cabling along with a power strip with surge protection.
The lower drawers were designed to accommodate hanging folders as my client decided to use this piece in her home office and needed additional file storage space.
