Fused Glass And Stained Glass Panel - Army Change Of Command

This panel is based upon the insignia of the client's son's army batallion( 2-35IN). He is taking over command and she wanted to have a stained glass panel made to commemorate the event.

The client wanted to preserve the look of the insignia as much as possible though both the cactus and the square insert made that a real challenge. A traditional stained glass design would have broken up the background area with several solder lines. Instead, I did a fused glass version of the insignia which maintained the simplicity of the design and then anchored that element in a more traditional stained glass border.

The panel will hang in the companies headquarters at Schofield barracks in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The approximate dimensions are 18" x 20"
