This kitchen, in New Haven, Vermont, was custom built for a new timber frame home. We incorporated arches over the sink and underneath the island bar to match the exposed knee braces of the framing. We made a bar top with a copper inset to match the copper hardware chosen for the cabinets and the ornate copper back splash made by a local artist. Marble was used for the main countertops. Soft-close drawer hardware was used throughout the kitchen. The kitchen is in the main room on the second level of the home, and we made custom bench and bookshelves instead of a railing around the stairs. The bench spans the stairway opening, making use of space that would otherwise be dead, and is made from the same douglas fir used for the flooring.
