Arts And Crafts - Stickley Model 300 Replica Ottoman Frame
The listing and published price are for the frame ONLY.
Upholstery options vary greatly, so please message me to discuss options beyond the frame.
This footstool is patterned after the Model 300 Ottoman from the 1912 catalog.
The exposed wood of the footstool is quarter-sawn white oak using traditional mortise and tenon peg joinery.
Significant time and attention is devoted to the finish in order to replicate the beauty of the traditional Arts & Crafts furniture of the time. After extensive hand sanding, a red/brown aniline dye followed by an oil base walnut colored stain is applied to achieve the dark oak color (shown). A shellac seal coat is then applied with another thorough sanding. Finally up to 3 coats of satin urethane are applied with a rub out between coats.
