This is the chest found in just about every home during the Arts & Crafts Period, in many different guises. In the bedroom it was the dresser and in an era that had very small closets, was the primary storage for clothing.

In the dining room it held all of the family's china, linens and silverware. Our silverware drawer lining helps prevent tarnishing, and our flexible dishware organizer helps keep your fine china from chipping.

CONFIGURATIONS: We build the chest standard in four different con­fig­u­ra­tions: Single door (hinged right or left) with six drawers and two adjustable shelves, double door with two large drawers and four adjustable shelves;, nine drawer, and ten drawer. (See configurations photo above).

The doors hide two fully adjustable shelves. These are not your typical flimsy furniture shelves, but full 1" thick shelves. We guarantee them not to sag, and if they do, we'll replace them.

With the optional mirror, the chest becomes a bedroom dresser able to hold all of your folded clothing, jewelry and accessories. In the dining room it serves as a tall buffet that stores all of your china, glassware and silverware as well as tablecloths and napkins. The generous top works well as a handy serving board. As a pantry it complements any Arts & Crafts kitchen and provides scads of storage for food and kitchen essentials.

CUSTOMIZATION: And, as is usual with our completely hand made furniture, you can customize it to fit your exact requirements with any size and combination of drawers and shelves that will fit into the case.

CRAFTSMANSHIP: Crafted with precession joinery typical of fine Arts and Crafts Period furnishings, it also includes the latest drawer tech­nol­o­gy. Our full extension under-mount glides are virtually invisible and make drawer operation smooth, safe and trouble-free. A self-close mechanism softly shuts the drawer for you and makes sure it stays closed. Each pair of slides is rated to hold 100 lbs.

The decorative hardware is authentic hammered bronze or wrought iron for absolute authenticity. Available in five standard wood species and over 60 standard finishes. If none of these suit you, then pick a wood and we'll see if we can get it.

Finished in our seventeen-step hand-applied finish using durable and nearly indestructible polyurethane, this is a piece designed and built to last many lifetimes with minimal care. We also offer custom finishes including hand-polished lacquer.
