This Asian inspired coffee table measures approximately 48L x 23W x 20H. The top is a book matched walnut veneer with an inlay of Birdseye maple with red accents. The top is surrounded by a solid maple frame that is slightly offset in order to accent the Birdseye maple edge banding. The curved ends of the frame were inspired by curves of pagodas. Pagoda roofs were curved it is said to ward off evil spirits. The solid maple columns under the top were inspired by the use of columns to support roofs of major buildings of the ancient Chinese. Note that each side has an even number of columns as did the buildings of the ancient Chinese. The curve of the solid maple legs was inspired by the curve of a samaurai sword. The frame, columns and legs have a black glaze over red.
