Baby Chick Children's Dish - Handpainted Porcelein - Wheel Thrown And Altered

This baby chick dish couldn't be more colorful and chipper! The chick looks like it's singing for it's supper! It makes an adorable new baby gift, to hang on the nursery wall, and later, when the child is older, sent to the kitchen for fun mealtimes! Later in life it makes a generous lunch plate, salad bowl for grazers, or serving bowl.
The dish is made on my wheel from my porcelain clay, then altered to puff out it's cheeks, carved for some very low relief detailing including a few 'feathers'. After painting three coats of each color using food safe underglazes, the piece is bisque fired. Then three coats of clear glaze was painted on and the piece fired to cone 6 or 2243 degrees. Of course it is food, dishwasher and microwave safe. It measures an average 7 1/2" round and 2 3/4" high.
