Reclaimed Pine Desk

This desk is built from reclaimed barnwood with a steel frame, made to match a bar and wine rack. The wood is from the pictured building being deconstructed. We used rafter wood, which had been exposed to extreme heat under the tin roof. The color was changed except for where the board was in contact with the supporting joist, leaving thin light colored stripes every 16 inches or so. This effect became much more subtle through planing and sanding, but is still visible.

The steel is 3/4" square tubing, with some angle iron used under the shelves. It is treated with gun blue and mineral oil. The weld beads were ground off to give it an ultraclean look. Levelers are threaded into the feet to allow for adjustment to the floor.

The dimensions were 31h x 45w x 25d.

Customer Testimony:

It was our first time using the CustomMade platform, and we couldn't have been happier working with Will and Mike. They've done an amazing job, sending us may updates (and pictures) throughout the process. We started with a desk, and were so pleased with how things progressed, that we asked Will and Mike to build us a bar too. Awesome work!
