Base Ten Block Set

Base Ten blocks are a mathematical manipulative used to teach basic mathematical concepts like place value, addition, subtraction, number sense, and counting. Kids can manipulate the blocks in different ways to express numbers and patterns. Physically manipulating objects is an important technique used in learning basic mathematic principles, particularly at the early stages of cognitive development.

The 3-dimensional base ten manipulatives come in four sizes to indicate their individual place value: Units (one's place), Rods (ten's place), Flats (hundred's place) and Cubes (thousand's place). Each Unit measures 1 cm (L) x 1 cm (H) x 1 cm (W), each Rod 10 cm (L) x 1 cm (H) x 1 cm (W), each Flat 10 cm (L) x 10 cm (H) x 1 cm (W), and each cube 10 cm (L) x 10 cm (H) x 10 cm (W).

Handcrafted from pine, oak or poplar wood, our base ten set is color-coded to help students quickly differentiate place value by comparing and contrasting each block. This set consists of 121 pieces which includes:

100 - yellow unit cubes
10 - green ten rods
10 - blue hundred flats
1 - red thousand cube
