Beveled Doors With Flowers

The stained glass in these doors is constructed with both lead and zinc came ('came' means strips of metal). My design and my use of zinc is what ensures that enough strength is built into these panels so that they do not need to be backed with unsightly steel reinforcement bars. Lead is still used in the curved lines. All zinc, lead, and solder are darkened to a uniform charcoal gray with a chemical patina.

These stained glass panels sold for $4200 for both. That did not include the wood or the shipping cost. (These clients had used me before, and drove all the way from Tennessee to pick up the stained glass for their new doors.)
