Handmade Walking Cane In Rosewood And Ebony With Brass - Walking Stick

A stunning cane, this hand crafted piece is made from quality cocobolo rosewood. Cocobolo has been one of our most popular selling woods for many years, and its easy to see why! The divider between the handle and shaft is ebony and brass with an artistically oriented cocobolo center piece. A Macassar ebony shaft finishes off the cane. Total cane height measures 38" and can be shortened to fit anyone's needs.

Since I first saw photos of Shawn Gillis’s imaginative, superbly crafted canes, I was eager to work with him. I’m overjoyed with the results of having been able to do so, on a stick with his distinctive bird handle, both sculpturally elegant and ergonomic. Shawn could not have been more gratifying to work with, as to responsiveness, cane design, choice of woods, speed of construction, and shipping. At such time as I have another project, he will be absolutely the first craftsman whose help I’ll seek, and he’d be the first I’d recommend to others, unhesitatingly so.

I wish I was more detailed with my specifications. There is no brass “insert” separating the two woods that make up the handle and stem. As shown in the sample picture and described in title cane type. Also there is a clunky rubber cap pressed onto the end of the cane like my $20 rite aid surgical supply cane instead of a custom detail. Again I never made myself clear to the builder so I must take some responsibility. That said it was my first customer cane purchase I guess I didn’t know enough to ask the right questions.
