Bisque Porcelain Heart Box
This is a bisque porcelain heart box. I almost exclusively paint on bisque porcelain. That means there is no glaze. It can be challenging to paint on bisque because the porcelain has "tooth". It's not a smooth surface.
This box is painted with roses and forget-me-not's and it has scroll work around the edge. The flowers are also highlighted with porcelain enamel. A box like this will take multiple firings to complete in a high fire kiln at between 1300 and 1700 degrees.
If you are interested in something like this let me know and we can plan a project. PS - This one belongs to my son and he says he won't sell. :-)
This could be used just as a decorative piece or as a ring box.
