Black Walnut Slab Table With Hand Hammered Industrial Base

This table was an incredible piece of art. The tabletop was to original slabs of urban reclaimed black walnut. The tree was taken down in order to do some local construction. This was not any sort of clear cut forestry. We selected just the right slabs and maintained most of the natural edges.

The table base was modeled after old bench base. We careful scaled up the size and got the proportions just right. The basic outline was CNC cut, but then our blacksmith partner, Wyatt Bienfang, hammered the edge pieces follow along exactly with the curve. The entire piece was heated and textured by hand. The wing nut that holds the stretcher in place is modeled after 1800s vintage carriage hardware.

The base can be replicated. We'll work with you to select just the right slabs for your project.

The base runs $1150 and the slab tops typically run about $100 per square foot.
