Joe and Emily Pagani are probably the most notorious CustomMade couple ever. Who could forget their adorably geeky proposal dressed as Charlie Brown characters with the shockingly gorgeous R2-D2 inspired engagement ring? If you haven’t seen their adorable proposal, it is a must. Check it out.
However, Emily wasn’t the only one getting some geeky and gorgeous pizazz for her ring finger. The couple felt that they just couldn’t say “I Do” without making the perfect droid duo.
Enter the C‑3PO inspired wedding band.
The couple worked with the same Maker of Emily’s engagement ring, the talented Paul Bierker of Paul Michael Design, to create R2-D2’s best friend and prove that men’s wedding rings don’t always have to be a plain piece of metal.
For their wedding, Joe and Emily avoided the excessive nature many wedding days seem to have and kept their marriage small, simple and oh-so-romantic with an elopement to the scenic lighthouse at Race Point Beach in Cape Cod, MA. They were married by one of their best friends who just so happens to be a minister, making it an intimate and meaningful experience.
To state the obvious, Joe and Emily are all about focusing on the things that matter. Joe even told USA Today that, “a lot of our sentiment comes from our childhood and where we came from.” Being artists themselves, Joe and Emily appreciate the quality of a handmade piece by an expert Maker. “These artists will spend endless hours,” said Joe. “You’re getting a piece somebody worked on.”
