Clockworks Boxes
for these boxes, i used a kiln to slump glass into a brass clockworks piece to create the top.
they have a mirrored or transparent bottom to better reflect light, and a custom made brass hinge.
i love the steampunk aesthetic, and have been pulling apart old, broken mechanisms to obtain parts that can be reused for different applications than they were originally intended for.
incorporating the clock piece into a glass box was a challenge because of the delicate nature of glass, especially when against a hard metal.
