.Blue Pine And Steel Channel Bench

This bench is made from beetle killed blue-stained pine. The wood naturally turns the blue color when the tree is attacked by pine beetles, there is no stain added. Because of the insect infestation of the tree it will most likely not survive. This condition is happening to thousands and thousands of trees along the Rocky Mountain range, creating a fire hazard. The harvesting of the dead trees helps with the long term heath of the forest and makes some really cool looking furniture as well.

The top is made from 1.75" thick blue pine with chamfered edges which have been finished with several coats of Danish oil finish. The base is made from steel c-channel and flat bar with a mill finish. The base is sealed with a satin lacquer.

Dimensions: The bench is 57" long, 17 1/2" wide, and 18" tall
