Book Shelf Made Of Walnut And English Brown Oak With Dogwood Blossom Marquetry Inlay.

This cabinet is inspired by epic furniture designer Edward Barnes. The piece was made to be the focal point of the room. Much of the attention is drawn to the contrasting colors of wood, the slight curves of the feet, and the beautiful marquetry that adorns to the top of the shelf. This cabinet framing is solid American Walnut hardwood that has been mortise and tenoned for ultimate strength and durability. The hardwood is accented and slightly contrasted by the English Brown Oak veneer seen in the panels and the background of the top piece. Every piece was sanded by hand up to 180 grit sandpaper and then the solid wood was stained a light walnut color while the English Brown Oak was left to it's natural color. This piece was sealed with two coats of shellac, two coats of vinyl sealer, and two coats of conversion varnish which is protective against 30 different kinds of household acids and also is not susceptible to scratching.
