Boston Serpentine Chest Of Drawers

40in wide x 22in deep x 33tall This beautiful chest is a replica of a Boston made chest by a maker named Ebineezer Martin in circa:1750(see original chest in photos above). The original is on display at the Jeramiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead MA. Chest is Solid Honduran Mahogany (all wood was cut from same tree) Secondary wood is Eastern White Pine. Both woods match original. Dovetailed case, dovetailed drawers, ogee-bracket feet, cock bead around all drawers, solid brass hardware, 4 locking drawers that taper in size from small to large starting at the top. Chest has a concentric serpentine curve starting at the top, continuing to the drawers and dividers, and flows into the base moulding and feet. ship-lapped back. Finish is a Cuban red Mahogany water stain followed by a grain filler, shellac, and wax. Every detail of this chest was made the same as the original.
