This bowl was hand thrown and trimmed. Once bisqued the piece was the glazed with a "crystalline glaze" containing copper. The piece was then fired through a detailed heat soak. The crystals were achieved when the glaze became a liquid glass and allowed the oxides to form a nucleus and begin to form matrices. Once the heat soak cycle was completed the piece naturally cooled down to prevent defects
