When craft shows get slow, I start to sketch. This leg appeared on the page as part of a headboard that I haven't had a chance to make, yet. This leg reminds me of a candlepin, hence the bench name.
This bench often ends up under a row of coat hooks or at the foot of a bed. For me, it's a favorite because it's ultimately functional and looks good as it performs. It's built to comfortably seat three.
The legs are ash, the stretchers are shagbark hickory, the pins that join the 2 long stretchers are ebony and the seat is Danish cord.
