This is built in storage cabinet was specifically designed to fit within a predetermined area in a client's house. The paint color was chosen to match the existing trim; the frame and panel doors where designed to replicate the interior doors inside the home; the crown moudling was used to emphasize the existing moulding in the room where the piece resides; the height and width were chosen to best utilize the space available. I met with the client at his/her convenience and designed this piece to match his/her unique criteria. The case sides, top, bottom, and back are made from birch plywood with 3/4" square poplar face frames. The stacked crown moulding is made of pine and polar, and similarly, the doors and legs are constructed from solid poplar. The shelves are constructed out of birch plywood with 3/4" x 1 1/2" poplar face frames.
This piece is easily customizable. There could be any number of drawers behind the doors; the doors could be shorter in height with drawers beneath them; there could be two rows of drawers behind the doors at the base of the cabinet with areas above to hang clothing.
