This is an original acrylic on canvas painting of a friend of a friend I met in Bujumbura, Burundi. He proudly allowed me to take his photograph. I don't recall the man's name, but locals there referred to him as a "Rastaman," not in a derogatory sense but as a description of his culture. It is now in the possession of a friend in Virginia who affectionately renamed the painting Maurice. It reminded him of some of the people he knew in Trinidad. The painting measures 24" x 48."
