Bushcenter-Library Oval Office Porcelain
This project was a great honor to create the porcelains for the center pieces of the Bush Center's Bush Presidential Library and Museum, Oval Office, in Dallas, Texas. These are museum quality reproductions fit and actually for leadership of the greatest nation on earth.
These were extremely difficult to recreate because of a very limited timeline and we were unable to have access to the originals. Only a few poor quality images were available. So we had to use Photoshop to clean up images digitally both for reference and eventually decals. Much hand painting and detailed gold leafing was meticulously applied to recreate the priceless originals remaining in Washington, DC. I created these in a my own custom Poxyporcelain materials and finished all with several coats of hand polished clear.
The red, gold urn pair with faces is used for the pair of end table lamps. The other three porcelains including the George Washington plate went on the shelf alcove next to the executive desk. The exquisitely detailed flower bowl is a coffee table centerpiece. There also is the antiqued cityscape urn and my favorite, the American eagle and oak leaf with "B" for Bush family rests on the top shelf.
I was proud to be an American on opening dedication, here are more images:
