American Chestnut went extinct in the early 1900's, victim to a blight that effectively wiped it out in the course of a few years. While the Shenandoah Valley will never know another spring abloom with the abundant white flowers of the thousands of chestnut trees that used to grow here, it is comforting to know that the trees still live on, harbored in the homes of people who appreciate their beautiful wood. Our hand made bed frame is crafted from solid reclaimed wormy chestnut for an authentic country look you simply cannot get any other way! This bed stands out for its rugged strength, antique charm and inviting appeal. It comes with headboard, footboard , side rails and drop-in planks if needed. Pictured is a king size frame, finished with an all natural wood oil. Also available in other sizes.

Hello, this project was so much larger upon delivery than what I could perceive online. Not only is it too large for the room that I planned for [not your fault] but it is particularly unattractive. It is dark, coarse, and bereft of any particular style. It will go into storage. Sorry folks. This just did not work out and I cannot afford the packaging and shipping to return it.
