Lanz carved these cabinet doors portraying the famous cave dwellings at the bottom of Canyon de Chelly, AZ. Lanz lived in northern AZ for 5 years and the rich culture and imposing surroundings found their way into his art work.
Matt Lanz's hand-carved panels are a piece of art that can be displayed by itself on a wall or, like some of his customers have done, mounted as the central part of a wooden door or a cabinet door.
Matt also works in collaboration with his father "Bud" Lanz, a fine carpenter. Bud makes the cabinetry and Matt carves the doors. Their pieces are highly personalized and valued. Bud is currently finishing the cabinet on which these doors were mounted.
Would you want a custom carving for any of your projects? Do you want the whole cabinet custom-made for you by Matt and Bud Lanz? Contact Matt. He can carve from the smallest of your ideas to large pieces like headboards, doors, tabletops, jewelry boxes, signs (he's just finishing a hand carved sign for a fine hat and shoe shop, for instance).
