Cardinal on a Cross, Handmade ceramic, 3 dimensional
Unique and detailed this cross is whimsical and quaint. Handmade from high fire clay, glazed in a deep blue, and kiln fired. It has light turquoise leaves that seemingly float on the surface and on each arm sits a pair of cardinals, female and male.
This piece is inspired by a scripture in the bible, Matthew 6:26. "Look at the birds in the air, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?" The rose depicts love, the love Jesus has for us.
In other words do not worry. That's what the cross conveys to me.
