Carved Wood Bowl With Huge Pink Porcelain Rose Surrounded By Black Roses
This bowl is almost 11 inches across. I sculpted each of these roses, individually by hand, petal by petal. When I make roses I try for realism rather than perfection, so you may see slight imperfections in the petals, a small crack, etc. I learned to sculpt flowers long ago when I lived in Italy, in the city of Naples there are a group of artisans in the area of town called Capodimonte and I used to travel up there and just watch the artists making the flowers, they made it look so easy!!! I found out when I returned to the U.S.A. and attempted to make my own flowers, it is much, much more difficult than I thought, and it took me literally a year of trial and error before I was making acceptable looking flowers. The pink rose is about 4 inches across.
