A client came to me and commissioned me to carve a sculptural form out of a log I had reclaimed from my parents silver maple tree they had to cut down because of decay. The client was interested in having the shape carved to act as a bowl, but with dividers to give value to each object that was highlighted inside the form.

I treat each carved form differently, either relating to the wood, or responding to the concepts or feel my customer desires. I could produce something similar to this form again, but it would never be exactly the same.

The time to produce this work will be dependent on the details and size. I can provide a better idea of time based on my schedule and the specific project. Typically allow 6-8 weeks for custom work like this. Sometimes this is faster.
