I was inspired to make the clay horns after reading an article in National Geographic of elephant and rhino tusks being harvesting for purchase. I am recreating the idea in a safer and more ethical manner. I start with shaping the clay in its desired height and width. I add slips, oxides and paints to color the clay. Some horns have added clay elements with other I carve designs into them. The horns can either be hung on the wall, stand on their own, or are attached to a stand for table decoration.
