The next iteration of the "Char" collection, the casework of this credenza features a black finish obtained with fire with to highlight doors made from select slices of locally sourced Oregon Black Walnut. In addition to the rich black and silver colors that result, the char finish also leaves the surface with a subtle 3-dimensional texture map of the wood grain that dances in the right light. Sitting on a blackened steel base with tiny turned walnut feet, the polished brass door pulls add a spot of bright color against the swirling grain of the walnut doors. The sliding doors are custom cut thick-sawn veneers over a plywood core that's edged with solid walnut to provide a stable existence over time without compromising the look of solid wood.
