This cabinet is built of solid cherry (furniture grade cherry plywood was used for the cabinet bottom and shelves). The aim of the design was to store audio/video equipment in the client's living room without the cabinet looking like a typical media storage unit. The solid cherry top has an inlay of Ribboned Sapele that is offset along the top's perimeter. To aid in the movement necessary to occasionally connect/disconnect cables and cords, the cabinet has casters set inconspicuously within its base. The finish is a shellac base coat to bring out the beauty of natural cherry, followed by protective topcoats of Milesi Spa waterbourne polyurethane.
