This is a beautiful handmade child size Pennsylvania style blanket chest or keepsake box with drawers and an inside covered till. Constructed of solid cherry, it is based on period examples both in design and construction. The case is dovetailed along with the traditional bracket feet and 2 drawers. All of the wood is carefully selected and matched for consistency of grain and figure, most from a single board. The drawer sides, backs and bottoms are tulip poplar. The entire piece is made of solid wood, no plywood or veneers anywhere. It is finished in an Antique cherry stain and a satin lacquer finish that really makes the figure pop out and gives it a nice warm look and feel. The solid brass Chippendale hardware is American made and of the highest quality and the mortised lock comes with 2 keys. Overall dimensions are 21 1/4" long, 10 1/4" wide and 13" tall. The drawers are roughly 9" wide, 3" tall and 8 1/4 deep. A visually stunning piece that would make a great home for your treasured keepsakes, jewelry, or just for display.
