This Queen Anne chair was commissioned to match a cherry table and dining set. The front cabriole legs are cut and shaped from 12/4 cherry, the back slat re-sawed from 5/4 cherry and profiled with a draw knife and chisel. The tenons on all chair aprons are reinforced with square pegs. The finish was an involved process because the effect had to match the patina of the existing furniture. This was a 12 step process including staining, filling, tinting and top-coating. The slip seat was fabricated, covered, and stretched in-house
