Hand cut dovetails on primary case. Spaced in an elegant manner
Coopered lid (arched) with amazing figure that looks ablaze in the sun.
Hand carved recess in the lid used as the lift. Notice how this was carved in relation to the sap wood on the edge
Mortise tenon joinery on the stand (note: some pictures have the chest off of the stand)
Hand shaped stand with plane
Extruded brass hinges and brass chain
Frame and panel bottom with false bottom.
Two hidden compartments in the frame and panel bottom make this an interesting conversation piece.
Exterior finished with oil varnish
Interior finished with shellac
