Children's Picturebook: Once Upon A Hill There Was A City.

These two large, hand colored etchings are of early Boston. They are originals for submission to publishers in Boston and/or New York.

The landscape and architecture of early Boston inspired the large etchings. Having grown up outside of Boston and intense research of Whitehill's Boston, A Topographical History, The Guide to Boston's Freedom Trail, Old Boston Taverns. Other sources were Bonner's 1722 Map of Boston, Paul Revere's engravings and many other antique views of the old town from the 17th and 18th century. The uniqueness of the perspective was obtained by obsessive study and the imagination of the artist.
