Chrysler Building Of New York City - Art Deco Design Etched Glass Interior Decor Display
The Chrysler Building is very recognizable with it's Art Deco style. This decorative etched art glass display was commissioned by the client to be a special gift because of their love and interest in this New York structure.
.
The glass was fabricated using three individual window panes stacked in layers within the wood stand's grooved slots. The order creates a 3d depth like an animation cell works.
.
Each panel measures 7" x 11" x 1/8" thick and has been sand carved on both sides to add more depth and interest to the artwork.
.
The design continues the Art Deco theme throughout. The base is made of maple wood and is a complimentary style to the image. The font style of the titled pane finishes off the congruent feel.
.
The entire project included the layout and composition, the artwork transfered and developed into stencils, peeling each section in sequence sandblasting by hand deepest to lightest shading of the abbrasive, cleaned, handmade base, assembled, and delivered to the client.
