Bright mint green chrysoprase, in smooth drops, are wire-wrapped in oxidized sterling silver wire and live beneath recycled silver rectangles. The oblong pieces were created using PMC and were imprinted with a leaf pattern prior to being kiln-fired. They have been oxidized and hand buffed for contrast and depth. The look is casual, not a bit fussy, with a pop of bold color.
They measure 1-5/8 in length, about 1/4 inch wide and are modeled on a mannequin for visual reference. They will be packed with care in a kraft style gift box and tied with a colorful ribbon.
PMC – Precious Metal Clay – is a clay comprised of tiny particles of reclaimed silver and an organic binder. I design and form each piece and then kiln fire it, where the binder burns away leaving the silver particles to cling together creating fine silver (.999). After firing, each piece is hand buffed, sometimes oxidized and then made into a beautiful piece of jewelry.
