I just started making these citrus juicers. It is a common thing for most potters to make things for others that they themselves might be needing in their own homes.... funny how that works.... One day I decided to make some home made lemonade and realized I did not have a juicer to squeeze my lemons with, so I made me one. I liked it so much, I decided to make them for my customers. It squeezes every drop imaginable inside your fruit... you will be amazed when you look at that lemon and see that it is completely dry, because you have literally squeezed the life out of it...
This juicer is made out of stoneware buff clay thrown on the wheel and altered. It has been fired to cone 6 or 2200 degrees. It is microwave safe, dishwasher safe, and of course it is food safe.
This one in the picture has a bulb area designed to fit a small lemon just as well as it fits a grapefruit. I did not put a handle on it, because I think the only use for it would be to hang it from a hook. Most of us will store it in the cabinet and a handle will only use up space and get in the way. If you would like me to make you one with a handle, I will be more than glad to comply with your wishes. I can make the base to hold more juice if you wish.
Dimensions: While I can make these in any size, this one measures 4 3/4" in diameter... 5" if you include the spout. It stands 3" tall. It holds 2 1/2 tablespoons of juice, which... if you are a baker like me... is probably what most recipes will call for.
