The requirements for this project were very vague. The place: A new coffee shop where they roast the beans and serve them in the optimal conditions. The task: Lighting that will catch people's attention as they drive or walk by. The chandeliers needed to stand out, without screaming loudly at customers that were enjoying the atmosphere inside.
Since the building was previously a large piano warehouse (and many of the pianos were still in the vacant space next door), we were fortunate enough to pull wood, keys and pieces from the pianos before they were cleared out. All of the wood on the main chandeliers is from the pianos, and the corners are garnished with the ivory keys.
Over the bar section is a set of hanging pendants with rayon twisted white cord to add to the simple / minimal feel. The 4th pendant down is a vibrant red to add a little pop. This was a fun project and it turned out great - one of our favorite places to hang out and enjoy some hand crafted coffee.
