The Coffee Table featuring a double chessboard was handmade by me in Brooklyn using hardwood and traditional joinery. I have a love for craft and a deep respect for the natural quality of wood. This piece is:
Beautiful
The coffee table is featured here with American Walnut/African Sepele frame, while the chessboard features Cherry, Maple, Ash, and African Sepele. I personally select each board for integrity and beauty. This makes our furniture truly unique in today's manufacturing culture. Generally, furniture makers will just call their lumber yard and take from the top of the pile with no regard to unique beauty or integrity of the board. I'm equal part artist and woodworker, so every piece I make is unique - it has never been made before.
Sturdy.
Rest assured this is a very solid piece of furniture, you could dance on it if you really wanted to. I use only hardwood and traditional joinery, so unlike manufacturers, our furniture is made to last.
Unique.
The table stands at 20" tall by 48" wide by 21" deep. Each square in the chessboard is 2". This design is both functional for those who enjoy chess, but even if you don't the design makes for a statement piece. These dimensions are customizable - let us know what you need!
