Ray Riddell of White Dove Woodworking was commissioned by my wife Isabel and me to make a coffee table. What we received was a beautiful piece of art that also happens to be a coffee table.
Ray worked with us on a design; he turned our basic concept into something special. He listened to us and delivered two designs for us to choose from. Ray stayed in constant communication throughout the project and hit his deadlines.
Ray is an artist who works with wood as his medium. His workmanship is superb and his pride in his work shines through. You can be sure that we will use Ray again. We can't thank him enough for turning our ideas into reality.
Coffee table and two ottomen were constructed using doors and hardware salvaged from the client's Cape cottage. The table features a flush custom glass top with space under the top for mementos. The ottomen were designed to be stored under the table and out of the way when not in use. The ottomen feature frame and raised panel construction. A removable pillow sits in the top of each ottoman (not supplied). Additionally, the top of the ottoman is hinged to reveal a storage area. The entire project was painted to coordinate with the clients new cottage.
