They had purchased the rack years ago from a Napa winery and asked for a base with a wine flair to complement to solid oak riddling rack. A riddling rack in operation looks like an "A" frame ladder; large tapered holes are drilled at a downward angle to hold the bottles for ageing. Using large slabs of walnut I hand carved the base to resemble grape vines. Price is for the base only, riddling racks vary in price, I est. $300-400, A custom glass top, again depends on size, est. $250. Base is finished with hand rubbed Tung oil.
