Coffee Table/Chest - Re-Purposed From Vintage Shipping Box

Only 1 in Stock!!!

This was a antique shipping box someone was going to throw on the trash pile. Once I opened it, I realized it was an old shipping box for parts for General Gas & Electric in Pennsylvania.

I removed the hinges and latch, and sanded the wood in order to reveal the grain. After sanding and a good wipe down, I made 4 small legs and installed them. From there I added an Ebony stain. I stained everything except the inside of the top lid where it has General Gas & Electric stamped on it. After staining I applied 2 coats of gloss poly to seal up this piece as well as bring out the beauty of the wood and stain.

Only 1 Available...

Before it was complete, I took the original hinges and latch...rust and all...and applied a clear to it.

The end result was a very rustic coffee table that allows for storage.
