Colorless Stained Glass With No Bevels

When people think of stained glass without any colored glass, they usually assume that there must be beveled glass pieces in it. This artwork is a good example of colorless stained glass that does not have any beveled glass in it. There are many textured clear glasses available that can be successfully combined to form traditional or contemporary stained glass artworks with little or no color.

This artwork was constructed with lead came. All metallic parts were darkened to a charcoal gray with a chemical patina.

Although this artwork was only 3' high, I have completed many large projects (usually residential) that have no color. Some had beveled glass along with textured clear glasses and some had no bevels at all. This artwork was the colorless one that took the best photo, so I submit it here as an example of the colorless, no-bevel option.

Note - Stained glass with colored glasses in it does not have to be wildly colorful. There are many neutral colors such as shades of white, brown, tan, gray, and black. There are also many soft and/or pale colors available. A custom stained glass project can have as much or as little color as a client wants, and those colors can be bright or pale or any combination.
