This box is made with wood from a redwood log that was cut down several decades ago in Mendocino County, CA. The logger intended to split the log into railroad crossties and grape stakes. But, discovering the grain was curly and unsuitable for splitting, he left it lying on the ground. Years later his grandson salvaged the log and sawed it into slabs. It is truly beautiful wood with quite a history. Like all of my boxes, this one is made entirely of wood. It features exposed-dowel joinery, wooden hinges, and dovetail drawer slides. It has two drawers and two lift-out trays. The price is $550.
